ICAP named “Interdealer Broker of the Year” by Asia Risk

ICAP cited for flexible business model in difficult operating environment

Singapore, 23 October 2014 – ICAP plc (IAP.L), a leading markets operator and provider of post trade risk mitigation and information services, has been named “Interdealer Broker of the Year” at the 2014 Asia Risk Awards. This is the third time that ICAP has received this award.

Aaron Woolner, editor, Asia Risk said: “ICAP was named Asia Risk Interdealer Broker of the Year having adapted its business model to weather a difficult climate impacted by low volatility and regulatory change. The company capitalised on the move to trading on swap execution facilities (SEFs) with its own multi-dealer platform that has seen healthy volumes.”

Hugh Gallagher, ICAP chief executive officer for Asia Pacific, said: “We are honoured to be named Asia Risk Interdealer Broker of the Year. It has been a difficult year across the region, and we are especially pleased that we have been recognised for our flexibility in helping our customers to succeed in changing conditions.”

The Asia Risk awards will be presented at a gala banquet on 30 October at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong.
