ICAP to Donate US $200,000 to Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Through World Vision
London, 4th April 2011 – ICAP, the world’s premier interdealer broker, announced today a financial contribution of $US200,000 to World Vision, a well-established and experienced global charity, assisting with the emergency relief efforts following the devastating effects of the earthquake and tsunami which struck Japan on March 11th.
ICAP's donation will go towards helping provide Child Friendly Spaces. The term “Child Friendly Space” is a new term in development and relief settings that seeks to address psychosocial and physical needs of children in crisis. It is a structured and safe place where children and youth meet other children to play, learn competencies to deal with the risks they face, be involved in some educational activities and relax in a safe place. It gives the children a sense of safety, structure and continuity that provides support amidst overwhelming experiences.
